Take a day trip to 1856!

Skibladner is one of Norway’s best-loved historic attractions—and is only a short journey from Oslo. Welcome to a world of exciting sights, sounds and smells, unspoiled scenery, warm hospitality—and a ship that’s been sailing for 160 years! Sailings throughout the summer, until August 14, 2016.

Our English website is under development and will be expanded in the days to come. Some texts are currently only available in Norwegian. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Live on TV

Last week (12th to 16th July) Skibladner starred in the latest season of the immensely popular “slow TV” programmes here in Norway. Her entire voyage was broadcast live each day on Norway’s prime TV channel, NRK 1. Skibladner resumed her regular timetabled service on Sunday 17th July.

Plan your trip here

Skibladner sails daily throughout the summer, 6 days a week (excluding Mondays). We alternate between a northbound route (to Lillehammer) and a southbound route (to Eidsvoll). You can plan your journey to arrive back at your starting point if you travel from Gjøvik, Hamar, Kapp and Moelv. See our timetable for full details—and reserve your tickets online.

Dining onboard

Treat yourself to a culinary experience by dining at one of the district’s best restaurants — aboard a working paddle steamer! Skibladner’s first class dining saloon has a proud 160-year history and serves the famous salmon & strawberries menu as well as many others.
