Paddle Steamer P.S. Skibladner

Welcome on board the world’s oldest paddle steamer in 2024!

We would like to thank everyone who travelled with us and supported Skibladner in 2023, despite the challenges with floods and cancelled sailings. We hope to see you again in 2024.

Skibladner is the world’s oldest paddle steamer in timetabled service and one of Norway’s best-loved attractions, 167 years after her launching in August 1856. She is still powered by the triple-expansion steam engines that were installed in her 1888 refit, and this charming vessel offers an authentic experience of steamship travel in the 1800s.

Between the end of June and mid August we run a scheduled daily service (except Mondays) between the towns on Lake Mjøsa, two hours north of Oslo in Norway, calling at scenic harbours along the route, and the ship is also available to charter for private functions from late May to early September.

Timetabled sailings open to the public in June 2024.

NB. Our 2023 season is now over and the ship is being prepared for winter.
